Why have a contact form on your website?

We always recommend to clients that they have a contact form on their website rather than a visible email address link.

Why? Because with a contact form you are not publishing your email address on the internet.

So what? Spammers love visible email addresses on websites. Every minute of every day there are thousands of robots automatically reaping visible email addresses from websites, delivering them in a nice database to all those spammers out there who will then spam you, and sell your email address to other spam factories.

If you do want your email address visible then you could have it as an image, but why bother, a contact form gives you the accessibility that potential clients need, protects your email address and helps you avoid spam.

This is why we recommend that you have a contact form on your website. Contact forms usually mean that genuine enquirers will be contacting you, visible email addresses also mean that genuine enquirers will be contacting you... but so will a lot of gleeful spammers.
